Job Description
Mid Cal Lalor Solutions is looking for a Heat and Frost Insulator
Full-Time, Nonexempt
Pay Range: $20.00–$28.00 per hour BOE
Summary of Responsibilities:
Working with Project Manager, insulator will identify in detail the important needs, people and time
needed to perform an insulation job. Insulator will assist Project Manager for delivery of material.
Insulator will assist helpers regarding arrival at job locations the night before (if necessary) the project
begins. Heat and frost insulators fabricate, assemble and apply insulation materials to plumbing,
heating, cooling and refrigeration systems, as well as piping equipment and pressure vessels, to reduce
the passage of heat, cold, sound, smoke or fire. Some of the main duties of a heat and frost insulator
include: applying and securing insulation, measuring and cutting insulating material using hand and
power tools, installing vapor, fire and smoke barriers, applying waterproofing cement over insulating
materials to finish surfaces, and reading and interpreting specifications to select the type of insulation
required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Measure, cut, fabricate, and install insulation using hand and power tools.
Apply insulation and finishes, including aluminum, PVC, and stainless-steel jacketing.
Assist with material delivery, job-site setup, and organization.
Read and follow plans, specifications, and project requirements.
Assist helpers and other team members as needed.
Assist with project reports and change-order requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of one year of field experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.
Safety
This position may involve exposure to electrical hazards, slips and trips, falls, working at heights, and construction-site hazards. Proper PPE and compliance with all company safety procedures are required.
