Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers, to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding any delays or issues encountered during routes.
- Ensure proper handling of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
Skills
- Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles.
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of route driving and delivery driver experience.
- Ability to load and unload freight safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with operating forklifts is a plus.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
