Duties
- Operate various types of trucks, including flatbed, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and manual transmission vehicles.
- Execute route driving tasks, ensuring timely delivery of goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience as a truck driver with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Familiarity with route driving and navigation systems.
- Ability to operate various truck types, including flatbed and refrigerated trailers.
- Experience in manual transmission driving is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate delivery records.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- A commitment to safety protocols in all aspects of driving and cargo handling.
